A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the same domain. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
You’ll be able to configure a catch-all email mailbox without difficulty in case you have a shared web hosting plan with us. The Email Manager tool in our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet surprisingly simple to use, and it will enable you to activate various options, including the catch-all one, with just a few mouse clicks. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be listed in alphabetical order in this section and next to each one of them you will see a small-size "Catch-all" sign. Clicking on it once will enable the feature, clicking it once again will disable it. As you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will warn you if you already have another one with this feature enabled or if you’ve got active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all e-mailbox with ease even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you have set up using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will warn you if you have already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not need the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
